The Rolex Cellini Date takes the perpetual values that have long-defined Rolex and utilizes them in pursuit of creating a stunning dress-watch. Craftsmanship, innovation and the evergreen ability to produce iconic designs have come together and resulted in the Cellini collection: a line of outstanding timepieces full of unique traits and confident elegance.
Today, the Cellini collection comprises four models: Cellini Time, Date, Dual Time and Moonphase. The Cellini Date adds a sub-dial at the 3 o’clock position and relies on a solid 18ct gold hand to point at the actual date — hence replacing the iconic cyclops date present on Rolex Oyster watches such as the Day-Date and Datejust.
The case of every currently offered Cellini watch is 39 millimeters wide, another rare specification among the 36, 40 and 41 millimeter variations of the Day-Date and Datejust — the two other rather more elegant elements of the Rolex universe.
The cases are produced exclusively in solid 18ct white gold or Everose gold, no Oystersteel, Rolesor (i.e. “two-tone”) or platinum versions are made available.
A quick glance into the history of dress watches reveals an overwhelming preference for gold: its deep, glowing luster and the ways it allows master craftspeople to machine and decorate it have long made this material the most popular among extremely refined watches designed to be worn in elegant attires and settings.
A black dial with a centered Guilloche pattern adds texture and depth to the Cellini, while its faceted hour and minute hands display the time in ageless style. Crisp white texts tell a shorter story than on Rolex Oyster models: Rolex Geneve, Cellini and Swiss Made are all that were given room on the Cellini Date. Applied, double-section hour markers in solid 18ct white gold match the material of the hands and the exterior.
The bezel of the modern Cellini is that of a special design as well. Domed and fluted at the same time, two design icons of the Rolex world are combined into one in a tasteful, yet fascinating manner Rolex is an expert in executing.
The concave crown with its deep grooves represents a departure from the sleek and modern alternative on the sportier Rolex Oyster models as well.
Available on a range of subtly colored leather straps secured by an 18ct white gold pin buckle with the Rolex Crown on top, the Rolex Cellini Date represents the highest level of formally elegant wear a Rolex watch can offer.
We would be delighted to present you the Cellini collection in our Authorized Rolex boutiques in Budapest, Belgrade and Porto Montenegro.
