The countdown function on the Yacht-Master II can be programmed from 10 minutes to 1 minute and the duration set with a mechanical memory.

The programming is carried out using the innovative rotatable Ring Command bezel developed by Rolex, which interact with the movement allowing it to be set and synchronised to the sequence of race start times. Complex in design, but simple in use, it is functionally beautiful.
